Professor Smith was sitting at her desk waiting for all of her students to come to class, she glanced down at her watch and thought to her self, i only have five more minutes. Professor Smith continued to read over her lesson, then got up and walked to the black board. Magically she wrote on the board,
Jelly Legs Jinx, Confundus Charm, Cushioning Charm, Petrificus Totalus, and Protego She sat back down, and waited for the students to come in,

Jasper was rushing down the hall, trying to get to class on time. Being late would earn Gryffindor to lose points, and last year he almost got smacked for making them lose so many. Early rising wasn't in his favor but today he had gotten up later than he hoped to. Quickly he made it to the door and opened it. Jasper stood in the doorway for a couple moments to catch his breath after he closed the door behind him. There wasn't anyone else in the classroom, which shocked him. "Good morning, Professor Smith..." He tried to catch his breath as he spoke, giving her a small smile, and took a seat up in the front.

Professor Smith was sitting back at her desk looking down at her lesson plans, when she heard the door fling open. She looked up to see Jasper Forrester one of her own Gryffindor students rushing in the room, he seemed to have ran to class, probably thinking he would be late, she thought, when Jasper greeter her and took his seat, she smiled back at him. "Good morning Jasper, how are you doing this morning"

Jasper shuffled the items in his bag and finally found his wand. He placed it on his desk and then looked up at Professor Smith at the time she spoke to him. "Just alright. I'm not a morning person... early rising isn't my favorite thing." He responded to her. He was oddly comfortable speaking with the professor, but he liked her and also the class. "How about yourself, Professor?" He asked. He had no idea what time class was suppose to start, but it looked like they still had awhile. He began to wonder what other students would be in the class.

As Adam was new he didn't know Hogwarts very well. He was also pretty timid about being around so many people, especially so many older people who were walking or running around the halls trying to get to their classrooms on time. Adam wished he knew a shortcut that nobody else knew so he could get to his classes without being pushed around, but he had a hard enough time finding his way to his classes in the hallway. He could just imagine himself finding a shortcut, and ending up in Diagon Alley or something.
Adam squeezed himself around many people, as he headed towards his first class for the day, Charms. It just happened to be his favorite class. He liked all the classes, they were all very new to him, but Charms was his favorite as he loved to learn about all the spells. He didn't think he would ever be good at casting them, but he hoped someday he would. Adam held a piece of parchment in his hand, one that told him what classes he had, where they were, and when they were. He kept looking at it as he walked around the halls, making sure he was going to the right classroom at the right time.
Adam finally managed to find the charms classroom at the right time. He walked towards the door right as a boy quickly ran in front of him, then went into the classroom. Adam had stopped quick so he didn't run into the boy. He waited a few seconds after the boy had went into the classroom, then opened the door to the charms classroom. Adam then stopped in the doorway to look around. He noticed that there was only the Professor, and the boy in the classroom. Adam was happy to be on time. He then went towards the front of the classroom, and took a seat next to the boy. Adam liked to be in front where he could see everything better. Adam gave a quick smile to the Professor, then started getting out some parchment and a quill.

Professor Smith waited for Jasper's reply, and then she replied, "Im doing fine, thank you." Then the door opened up again, and this time another boy had walked in, Professor Smith believed his name was Adam, but she wasn't sure yet since this was only her second charms lesson and she had so many students. "Good morning" she said to him, and he took a seat next to Jasper. Professor Smith checked her watch again, "well everyone else should be here soon, so if you two want you may talk amongst yourselves until the rest of the class gets here." Then she pointed to the black board, "or if you prefer." she continued "you can start looking up those spells in your books." She finished her sentence and started to flip through a notebook.

Jasper didn't feel like reading, but it was the smartest thing to do. "Might as well do both." He murmured to himself, getting his book out. A wrapper from one of his candies accidentally got onto his desk since he grabbed it along with the book. He quickly stuffed it back in the bag and then started to flip through the pages. "How has your morning been, Adam?" he asked him, giving him a small as he looked over in his direction. He looked back down at his book and flipped through a few pages.

After Adam had taken out a piece of parchment and a quill, he watched as the boy and the Professor talked a bit. The Professor then had said the rest of the class should be there soon, and they should amongst themselves. Adam looked at the boy, then realized he had seen him before. The boy was the first person at Hogwarts Adam had talked to. They had met at the Great Hall. The boy then asked how Adam's morning had been. Adam thought of how his morning had been. "Rough" Adam said as he remembered trying to walk through the halls without getting trampled. Adam then took out his spell book and opened it up. He looked up at the board, and read the spells they were supposed to look up.

"Sorry to hear that... did the staircases harrass you?" Jasper asked, looking from his book then back at Adam. He had found a couple of the spells and while waiting for a responce he started to read them. He got more so interested in the Jelly Legs Jinx than the Confundus Charm. Even after five years of dealing with them, Jasper still loathed those stairs. He hadn't had any problems yet, but he was prepared and a little paranoid about it.

Adam looked at Jasper, then shook his head. "I think they're cool" Adam said. He had fun coming up, and going down the stairs. It was odd since most first years, and even older students didn't like the stairs much as they were tricky. But Adam loved them. When they started moving when they weren't supposed to, Adam would either jump back to where he was, or just enjoy the ride and get on other stairs to go back.
Adam wrote down the spells he was supposed to look up so he didn't have to keep looking at the board. He then started flipping through it looking for the spells he had written down. The only spell he had heard about was the Jelly Legs Jinx, and that was because some older kids had been talking about it in the Hufflepuff Common Room. Other then that, Adam had no idea what the other spells were, and was excited to be able to look them up and read all about them.

Jasper looked away from his book and over at Adam. "You do? Maybe they like you or something." He grinned a little, "I'd give anything to have those things lead me to where I want to go for once..." He searched for the third spell that was listed on the board and found it. He pretended to be reading it, but he really wasn't. "Last year they kept trying to lead me back to the Gryffindor commonroom and I was late for class a lot." He murmured. Of course, Jasper was bad at timing and would usually take the same staircase back. He just wasn't good with those things at all.

Post by Juliana Herrington on May 8, 2009 7:07:32 GMT -6
Not even the least bit anxious to attend any class was Juliana's attitude today. Her robes flew behind her violently as she pushed others in the crowded hallway out of the way. Juliana watched as some students decided to run to class, when they had a lot of time left. Pure foolishness. She didn't have the patience to say, "Excuse me." She was almost sure it didn't work anyway. She never moved when someone said excuse me, so it was only fair that she thought that way. She didn't mind Charms at all, but she just didn't like class in general. Charms was her best class last year, and maybe it would turn out the same this year. As she turned the corner into the classroom, her full blonde curls bounced along with her movement, "Professor," she nodded her head towards the woman sitting at the front of the room.
She was head of the Gryffindor house, but she still respected her as an adult. But, not as much as she admired her own head of house. Juliana momentarily glanced across the room, trying to find a good place to sit. It wasn't that hard since there were only two people in class anyway. Neither one of them looked worthy of conversation, considered the house colors they wore. She made her way to the back of the room, stepping on someone's bag in the aisle but she didn't care whose it was. She dropped her black and silver tote next to her, and sat down taking out her her wand and playing around with it until the lesson started.

Professor Smith looked around the room at her students, it seems they decided to talk and work a little, which she was surprised. Last year all her classes, when given the chance, didn't work if they didn't have to and they would get so loud talking, she would have to make up extra assignments. This class looked like it was going to be a good class, she thought as the classroom door opened again, she saw Juliana Herrington walk into the classroom, after searching for a seat she sat down, "Good Morning Juliana, how was your summer?" Professor Smith looked out to the class and waited for Juliana to answer. She figured it was about time to start class, and she was going to start in a few minutes even if the rest of the class wasn't here, she had most of her students in here.

Adam looked at Jasper, then just nodded his head at him. He then looked back at his book and began reading it. He had no idea what else to say to Jasper, and figured he would wait until Jasper started another conversation. As Adam continued reading from his book, he heard someone else come in. He watched as an older girl in the Slytherin House walked into the room, then headed towards the back of the room. Adam continued watching her as she sat then took out her wand and began to play around with it.

Walking into the classroom, Faith always appeared before class a couple minutes before it was time to start. It wasn't that she got up late or anything, just taking her time in the halls. Her Slytherin robes flowed behind her as she made her way into the classroom, there was a Hufflepuff and a Gryffindor. The ones in the Great Hall days before, Great a class with them. Noticing the professor in the front of the room, Hello. She was never really any good at talking with the professors, unless the professor was head of Slytherin, then it was no problem. Taking a seat near the other Slytherin in the back of the room, I remember her....Juliana a sixth year. Faith was a fourth year, knowing things that went on in her own house was imortant at times. Setting down her bag, she pushed her blonde hair behind her ear. Fiddling around with her pencil, she started to doodle on the parchment in front of her.
