Professor Ver'anu sat in her large throne in the middle of the room, with her pet snake crawling across her shoulder. The smell of incense filled the room, but in intervals, because the window was opened. You could hear the faint splashing of the lake and seagulls. Looking out of the window, you could see the mountains, and the Forbidden Forest. The board behind her read:
The school bell rang, and she expected students to be climbing the high tower at any moment. Hopefully, none of them would fall down the stairs and disrupt class.

Divinations, fortune-telling, honestly Rayn thought it was a little...insane? But she was still interested in the class, thus she decided to sign-up and take it.
The bell rang over head as she walked through the door. She paused in the thrush hold, taking in the sight of the room...she found it...interesting. Her eyes ended on who she assumed was the Professor of this class...Ver'anu...that was her name...right?
Rayn gave the professor one of her 'pretty smiles'.
"Morning Professor!" she said brightly walking in the rest of the way and taking a seat, she then actually smelled the incense...and read the board...and she came to the conclusion of one thing...this class should prove to be...interesting.

Juliana climbed the stairs to the Divination tower, pushing people out of the way as she ascended. Others moved when they saw her coming. Her fingers ran through her think blonde tendrils as she finally entered the Divination room. Eva was indeed her favorite teacher. "Morning Eva." she nodded at the Professor at the middle of the room. Her eyes caught the snake on her shoulders and she didn't react, but hoped there wouldn't be some juvenile in the class who would be afraid. She took a seat, completely unacknowledging the other girl in the class and waited for class to start.

"Ladies." Professor Ver'anu greeted them both as they walked through the door. She only recognized Juliana, but she planned on knowing the names of all her students, even though it would probably take her some time. It happened every year. Unlike most teachers, she didn't host any "get-to-know-you" games at the beginning of the year. It was all about business to her. She continued to wait for the remainder of her students to enter the classroom.

Jacob climbed up the trap door to the classroom. "Morning Professor." He said as he walked over to an empty desk near the window.
'Wow.This might actually be a fun class' he thought as he pulled out his parchment, ink, and quill

Mika woke up that morning remembering that it was time for her Divination class. She had taken such a class before when she was at Beauxbatons, but the Professor at that school proved to be a little... off? To say the least. She claimed to be a seer, that she could see into all the girls' futures, and claimed Mika wouldn't live long enough to see her 15th birthday... her 16th was coming up here soon. Quack...
Stepping into the room, the smell of the incense hit her like a bus, and her body instantly fell into a calming state, the breeze bringing the room to a comfortable temperature.
Glancing around, she noticed a housemate, her friend, and that Collin kid in the room. Walking over, she took a seat next to Rayn and place her bag with her books, quill, and parchment on top of her desk. Lifting her gaze, she gave the professor a small smile. "G'morning, Professor Ver'anu." she stated, pulling out her supplies and taking a few notes from what was on the board.

"Hey guys, Everyone relax, just don't fall asleep." she greeted them both as they walked into class. The other latter of students shuffled into the classroom, and the second bell rang to indicate that it was time for class to start, anyone else who would enter after that would be late. Eva took out her wand and pointed it towards the door, shutting it closed. She also locked the trap door, so that no one else could come through. She stayed in her seat, and crossed her legs. "Congratulations, you've chosen to participate in one of the most difficult classes that Hogwarts can offer." she smirked at them all. "Before I get into why, My name is Professor Eva Ver'anu, but you may call me Eva during class. Outside of class, however, it is strictly business and I will deduct house points if you call me by my first name. I don't know many of your names yet, but that's not very important." she told them, as Dandy slid down her arm.
"Now, back onto other things. Divination maybe the hardest class you'll take here at Hogwarts. Why? Because it is difficult to get the jist of it unless you are an actual seer. An authentic seer. Divination is a magic which attempts to forsee future events. It is also the most controversial magic there is. Many believe that Divination is just pretend. This is because, things like these, she pointed her wand to the board, are only true based on the current happenings. For example." she started. She stood up, and walked over to the Crystal Ball at Jacob Collin's table. She touched the ball with the tips of her fingers, and closed her eyes. The mist in the ball began to swirl and showed an image, of Jacob tripping down the stairs.
She looked down at his shoes and saw they were untied. "In case you weren't close enough, I just saw this boy falling down the stairs, because his shoes were untied in the near future. Now, if he ties them," she pointed her wand at his feet to tie his shoe, Then she touched the ball again, and then saw him walking normally. "Divination predicts the near future, and the near future can always be changed by different events, but Seering on the other hand, is very vague and can happen at anytime, but it does not change, ever." she told them.
"Now, in this class, there will be many opportunities for you to try these things on your own and with partners. But today, we'll go over most of them and then try one if we have enough time. So, who can tell me what Astrology is?" she asked them, finally standing.

Pre-planned...Rayn thought as she watched and listened to the professor. It was simple enough, Eva had spoken with the boy before class...or she just noticed something so insignificant as his shoes being untied, and played off that...logic...
How the hell did some crystal ball with smoke in it tell you that he'd fall down the staires...either was she raised her hand to the question...remebering the rules of the class...no outburst.
Surprisingly enough to herself that a question had been asked that she could answer...she new what Astrology was...and although she thought divinations was...redicuious, she did find enjoyment out of reading the little horoscope that were printed in newspapers.

Mika watched as the professor closed the doors and locked the secret passage after the second bell had rang. Anyone after that was just shit out of luck. Mika typically made it a point to be on time, if not early, to classes she held with a general interest, and divination, unlike her close friend, was one of them. Yes, Mika found a great interest in divination. To her, the gift to see visions of the future, near or far, if a powerful thing to possess. Sure, the young girl wasn't a seer, but with practice, she could zone in on a key skill in divination and parhaps expand from there.
Reading Tea Leaves
Scribbling down the last of the points of interest, she was then professor then get to her feet and make her way over to Collin's crystal ball, seeing a prediction of him falling, and making a slight adjustment in the present to avoid a "disaster" in the near future.
Mika glanced over at Rayn who had an obvious look of disbelief and distaste on her face, or so one Mika could see, and could tell her friend really had no general interest in the class. With a small smile as she shook her head, she turned her attention back to Professor Ver'anu. As the professor spoke up again asking the question of astrology, Mika was tempted to raise her hand to answer, but Rayn had shot hers up first, so she decided to remain still.

Eva saw someone raised their hand out of the corner of her eye, and she turned to them. "Who are you, and do you know the answer?" she asked the girl. Her voice was monotone, but she didn't mean to harm or intimidate anyone by it.

Rayn lowered her hand. "I'm Rayn Tenzaku, sixth year Hufflepuff..." she added her year and house in-case the woman asked, just go ahead and get it out of the way, or save the woman the time of looking it up.
"And yes Professor...I do know the answer..." she collected her thoughts for a short moment, ordering her words.
"Well, for starts, Astrology the study of constellations or stars. Overall it's a group of systems, traditions, and beliefs, people believe that the relative positions of celestial bodies and related details about them can provide information about personality, human affairs, and other matters that people turned to Divination for." She smiled, "Of course depending on where you live or were raised in the world depends on whether you look up the Western version of it, or the Chinese version...for instance, begin from Japan, I look up my Horoscopes using the Chinese version."
She finished...and felt she might have pushed it a little...using the word horoscope...she had heard once that people who devote their lives to Divination thought that horoscopes where a mockery...she didn't know if it was true, honestly...she slightly didn't care.
