Role Playing:[/u]
This site is a Harry Potter role play site. You are expected to at as if you are attending Hogwarts yourself. There isn't much to the role playing, but I would like everyone to keep things clean. If I (or another teacher) notice something that should not be on the site, you will be reported and house points will be deducted. If it happens again your account will be suspended for three days.
If you have any questions please fill free to owl me.
Questions/Comments/Suggestions:
Students are not required to add Questions/Comments/Suggestions to the site, but it is nice. And for every Suggestion or Comment you add you may receive house points. Not always, but its like a random thing. So post and maybe it will be you =]
Getting Started at Hogwarts
The Sorting Hat:
The Sorting Hat is the first thing that every student needs to do once they arrive at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You get sorted into one of Hogwarts four great houses, [Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, and Slytherin.]
Create a Character:
Once you have finished getting sorted it is time to tell everyone your characters history. You may tell us whatever you want about your character, there is a form on the "Create A Character" board that will help you tell us about your character.
Classes:
Once you have completed the two task above, it is time to go sign up for all your classes. Hogwarts offers a good bit of classes that will train you to become a great witch or wizard.
If you are a late register, you will need to complete all the lesson prior to you joining. You will need to talk to the teacher of the date to see when they would like them to be turned in.
Certain classes have a schedule, you should read the syllabus in each class to find out about what you need to know, this can be found on the classrooms bulletin board.
The Hogwarts Life
Terms:
There are four quarters to a year at Hogwarts, and in each quarter there is four weeks. So to complete a year at Hogwarts it is four months. Within these four months you as a student must learn everything you need to know, there will be an exam at the end of the year which will determine whether or not you have completed a year at Hogwarts, and if you have you will move on to the next year.
A term is two months, at the end of the term you take exams. And then you have a week off from school. Students may choose to go home for the holidays or stay at Hogwarts, once the time goes there will be a letter that you can sign.
Exams:
There are only two major exams a year at Hogwarts. And they will be every two months. The first one is right before the holidays, and the second one is right before the end of the year.
Clubs:
There will eventually be many clubs at Hogwarts for students to join. There will be a form posted somewhere that you will need to fill out to join. Right now there is only the Hogwarts Weekly. If you would like to join please visit me in my office.
- The Hogwarts Weekly
TheTrophy Room:
Every week spot lights awards will be given out in the Trophy Room.
House Points:
House Points are an important part of Hogwarts. They can be awarded for many things, including completing homework assignments, answering questions in class, helping out a teacher. There are many more reasons. But House Points can also be deducted for things that are against the rules, or not listening to a teacher, or not keeping your role playing clean.
Reward Points:
Reward Points are something new and special to Hogwarts, you can be given reward points for anything, just like house points, but they can not be taken away. Once you have a good enough amount you may visit The Student Store and purchase something.
