Why do you think you should be in that house?:
Lizzy prefers Ravenclaw over most others, namely because she has a bit of a superiority complex, and while she is smart, thinks that she is smarter than all people below her, and while this is usually true, it isn't always the correct assumption. Now, while she does have this superiority complex, she still despises all of those self-absorbed pure-blooded Slytherin, mainly because they don't think that anyone else but themselves are the best. So, even if she does think she is the smartest, she knows that wits aren't everything, and that compassion, bravery, and strength all come close, or even tied, with brains. While she tries to be brave and strong, she utterly fails at both, so tries to stick with being calm, cool, collected, and understanding in most situations, although the aura she gives off says otherwise.
She is also a bit of pretend a goody two shoes, becoming utterly embarrassed if she is caught publicly breaking any of the rules. However, if she is alone when she is doing it, or with friends who are also a part of it? Yeah, that's when she doesn't care very much. So, while she usually abides most of the rules, its because she knows that there would certainly be a large punishment for breaking them.
