[As there aren't many students on the site yet, This will just be a quick lesson. Possibly next lesson will be an RP.]
Muggle Studies - Lesson one[/u]
Professor Conway walks into the Muggle Studies classroom a little bit late. There are still students coming in, but most are already in the classroom. Professor Conway walks past the students, and up to his desk. He then looks at the students, and smiles at them. "Hello Students. Welcome to the Muggle Studies class. You obviously know what a Muggle is, well this class is to teach you all about them. I know it isn't the most exciting class there is, but it will be an easy one for most of you" Professor Conway says. He then turns to look behind his desk where there is a chalkboard. He holds up his and, and magically writes stuff on the board. He then turns back to the students when he is done. By this time all the students are in their seats, and are watching the Professor. "This lesson will be a pretty simple one. In class I want you to fill out the form I have on the board. It is just an introduction, telling me about yourself. You then will read what I have on the board about the Muggle Item, Clocks. Underneath that is your homework. You are expected to turn it in by next lesson." Professor Conway says, still smiling at the students. "You may begin reading the board" he says as he turns to his desk, and sits down.

[Please post the introduction in this lesson thread]
This lesson is all about the muggle item, a clock. This lesson will teach you all about the battery powered old fashioned clock, the wind up clock, the grandfather clock, and the newer fashioned plug in electric digital clock.
Battery Powered Old Fashioned Clock[/u]
The battery powered old fashioned clock looks like the regular wind up clock we use here a Hogwarts. But instead of winding up, it uses batteries. One way Muggles use to power things. The particular battery this clock uses, is called a "C" Battery. It is a bigger type of battery then the other types. This clock uses two of them to work.
Wind Up Clock[/u]
Unlike the battery powered clock, the wind up clock does not need batteries, and instead has a knob you twist that will allow it to work. And because of that, students and staff of Hogwarts use wind up clocks for the time, as they will work inside the castle.
LongCase/Grandfather Clock[/u]
The longcase clock, or a more popular name, the Grandfather clock, is an extremely tall clock ranging from 6, to 8 feet tall. There are several names for this clock including; Granddaughter, and Grandmother clock. When the clock is smaller than 5 feet it is a granddaughter clock, when it is over 5 feet it is a grandmother clock, and when it is over 6 feet it is called a grandfather clock. It is said to be made in the 1670's by a man named William Clement. The Grandfather clock is a striking clock 'which means they sound the time on each hour or fraction of an hour. '

Digital Alarm Clock[/u]
The digital alarm clock is unlike the other clocks mentioned already. For one, this one is digital and much easier to read to most people. This particular clock is not only digital, but it is an alarm clock. And not only that, but this one plugs into what muggles call an outlet, and that is how it works. No batteries, or wind up knob needed. This certain clock will definitely not work at Hogwarts.
